Section 1: Sisak – Sunja
From Sisak, the “city of Croatian victories” to Sunja, over gentle hills, along the river Sava, which is more felt than seen here, you’ll have a nice time enjoying clean air, slightly winding road, forested slopes, dreamy meadows cutting across forest areas and simply beckoning you to stop, rest and have a short respite on this section where you must see …

You must see:
Sisak beckons with the most beautiful promenade (along the river Kupa) in inland Croatia, offering a view of the elegant and always intriguing Old Bridge, its Stari grad (Old Town) fort, where a famous victory of Christians over the Ottoman army was won in 1593, and more, such as a Roman archaeological site, museum … Sunja, a picturesque Posavina town on the crossroads leading to Sisak, Hrvatska Dubica and Hrvatska Kostajnica, a sleepy place in the shade of St Magdalene’s Parish Church, welcomes its visitors with pleasure and natural, hospitable manners. From Sunja, the road takes you to Section 2: Sunja – Hrvatska Dubica.

Section 2: Sunja – Hrvatska Dubica
Sunja, a picturesque Posavina town on the crossroads leading to Sisak, Hrvatska Dubica and Hrvatska Kostajnica, a sleepy place in the shade of St Magdalene’s Parish Church, welcomes its visitors with pleasure and natural, hospitable manners. Right after leaving Sunja, you’ll be faced with a choice in Vedro Polje, whether to turn right toward Hrvatska Kostajnica or continue through a docile, but scarcely populated area toward Hrvatska Dubica. Hrvatska Dubica is an old settlement, urbanized since Roman times, a fortified town near which Croatian ban and bishop Petar Berislavić won a world famous victory over the Ottoman army in 1513. You have finished you ride on County Cyclotourism Route 02, but the journey need not end here; continue towards Hrvatska Kostajnica, through Pounje, or head left, towards Jasenovac and Novska. On your bike, you’re the only boss deciding where to go next.
